About DEFF Licenses
Who we are
DEFF licenses is a secretariat in the Danish Agency for Culture. It is part of the DEFF structure organisationally parallel to the DEFF Secretariat.
DEFF is financed by:
The Ministry of Culture
The Ministry of Children and Education
The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education.
Objectives
In DEFF Licenses we work to secure access to as much scholarly content for researchers, teachers and students as possible within the budget constraints.
The acquisition, negotiation and signing of licenses is legally performed by a national consortium in order to streamline the process and the subsequent administration.
Target groups
DEFF Licenses’ primary target groups are institutions under the three ministries. However, DEFF Licenses supports other government and private organisations as well.
What can you expect of DEFF Licenses?
DEFF Licenses’ mission is to secure access to as much scholarly content for as many researchers, teachers and students as possible. Additionally, DEFF Licenses manages the licenses themselves, billing, renewals and cancellations, IP-administration, a helpdesk etc.
What does DEFF Licenses expect from the institutions?
It is the Institutions' own responsibility to adhere to license terms and deadlines and to keep current powers of attorney and IP-addresses.
